The Santa Maria Public Airport is more than runways and hangars. It is a public asset that belongs to all of us in District 4. How it is run affects our safety, our jobs and our local economy.

Safety first

Alejandro Arredondo supports modernizing aging runway systems and terminal facilities. Newer systems and facilities make the airport safer and more efficient for the pilots, tenants and families who rely on it.

Quality local jobs

He wants to attract aviation, aerospace, manufacturing and logistics employers to Santa Maria. The goal is quality jobs close to home, so more neighbors can build a career here.

Fair to small businesses

Small tenant businesses are part of what keeps the airport running. Alejandro supports fair lease agreements and policies that protect them.

Accountability you can see

The airport is a public asset. He stands for transparency and responsible fiscal stewardship, and for working in partnership with tenants, local businesses and agencies.

Why it matters coming from Alejandro

Alejandro is a lifelong Santa Maria resident, a Purple Heart recipient and an Army combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. His family has had a business at the Santa Maria Public Airport for more than 36 years, and he has led its operations for the past decade.
